The Oklahoma State Testing Program assesses academic achievement for Oklahoma students; provides school administrators, educators, parents and the community with tools and information needed to accelerate learning. State testing takes place once per school year during the spring and is mandatory for students in grades 3-8 and grade 11. A U.S. History test is administered to high school students. 

The ACT and SAT are college admissions tests required by most colleges and aligned to both state and national standards. Students in the 11th grade are required to take either the ACT or SAT. College admissions tests can be taken by students in grades 7-12. 

The Practice SAT and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Exam (PSAT/NMSQT) is the practice version of the SAT administered to students in grades 10-11. The exam predicts SAT scores and identifies National Merit Scholars. National Merit Scholars are eligible to receive competitive scholarships many resulting in complete college compensation. 

Advanced Placement (AP) Tests are standardized tests designed to assess skill and content mastery in specific Advanced Placement courses.  These test are optional for students in grade 10-12.  Students score well on these exams may have the advantage of scholarships, college credit, and academic transcripted credibility for college admissions.
