MPS Teachers Receive Top Professional Oklahoma Educator Honors

Three Muskogee Public Schools teachers were awarded with top honors Friday night at the 22nd Annual Professional Oklahoma Educators Excellence in Education Awards Banquet in Oklahoma City.

Rosa Denton, 8th and 9th Grade Academy librarian, was awarded the top honor in the state for the educational specialist category. William Triplett, Maj, USAF (Ret), high school aerospace instructor and director of the MHS Air Force JROTC unit, was a top three finalist for the high school educator category, and Margaret Ragsdale, fifth grade teacher at Creek Elementary, was a state finalist in the elementary educator category.

The Professional Oklahoma Educators Foundation hosts the annual banquet to recognize and honor educators for their contributions to excellence in Oklahoma education. The awards are given to recognize educators who truly stand out for their commitment and dedication to student learning and the advancement of the teaching profession. Those recognized are Professional Oklahoma Educators members nominated by their peers and fellow educators.
