High School Students Earn Awards at Muskogee STEAM Center Art Show
Muskogee STEAM Center sponsored an art show and student competition during April at Muskogee Public Library. Student winners of the competition, “Art is Science, Science is Art” are from left to right, Kaysi Jeraminas, 1st place painting and drawing; Judy Hall, 2nd place drawing; Natalia Ortiz, 2nd place painting; Hailey James, 3rd place, painting; Elizabeth Jones, 3rd place, drawing; and their art teacher at Muskogee High School, Sonya Foster, who was presented with an education excellence award from the AIM Educational Excellence Committee. Not shown is Talia Handle, honorable mention drawing.
Muskogee Schools alumni were also featured in the month-long art show at the library. They were Chris Cummings, Dr. Marty Beal, Ann Boos Davis, Louise Bishop, and Margaret Taylor. Radio personality, Cliff Casteel, was also featured. Muskogee STEAM Center is a museum-without-walls whose mission is to bring to life the joy of science, technology, engineering, art and math for learners of all ages.
