MPS Students Compete in Oklahoma National History Day

MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Students from Muskogee High School and Sadler Arts Academy participated in the Oklahoma National History Day contest held May 1-2 at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City.
High School students Kylie Gioletti and Catori Roberts will represent Muskogee at the National History Day competition in Washington DC in June. Gioletti placed first and Roberts placed second in the documentary category. Giolietti’s project was on the Oklahoma City Bombing while Roberts project was on SeaWorld and the captivity crises of whales.
Phuong Ngyuen, from MHS, placed third in the website category for his project over the Tuskegee syphilis experiments.
Sadler Arts Academy had 12 students compete in the statewide History Day competition with Rakiya Lang and Jaliyah Simmons placing third in the group exhibit category. Lang and Simmons group exhibit was titled “Wilma Overcomes” depicted the triumph and tragedy of Wilma Mankiller’s life.
