Muskogee Public Schools Announces Virtual School Day
MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Muskogee Public Schools will hold a Virtual School Day on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.
Teachers will be engaged in professional development on this day but will eagerly provide any assistance needed to ensure the successful completion of student’s assignments. A Virtual School Day will provide instruction for students while the district holds professional development for teachers on this day.
For elementary students, homework will be sent home in the student’s homework folder and should be completed and turned in to their teacher on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 to ensure the student is counted as present on the Virtual Day (Feb. 18). Teachers will have an opportunity to respond to questions via email, text, or Classroom DoJo.
For secondary students, teachers will provide a link (click here for the attendance link between 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m.) for students to sign-in for Virtual Day attendance that will also be available via the district’s main web page. The link will only be active from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for students to sign-in. Students not signing in within that time will be counted absent for the day. Assignments will be created in Google Classroom for secondary students. Assignments must be completed and submitted prior to the start of class on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 to receive class credit. Teachers will have an opportunity to respond to questions via email, text, Remind or Google Classroom.
The district will review the Virtual School Day experience for students and staff as we consider using this model for days the district is closed due to professional development, inclement weather, and emergencies in the future.
Secondary students can sign-in for Virtual Day attendance by clicking here between 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Tue., Feb. 18, 2020.
