MPS Adjusts February Instructional Calendar to Accommodate for Winter Closures
MUSKOGEE, Okla. - All students will return to school on Monday, February 6. Originally scheduled as a professional development with no students reporting to school, Monday will be used as a make up day for instruction. The early release day on Wednesday, February 8 will take place as scheduled.
“Navigating winter weather is always a challenge. The decision to close school is made with the safety of our students and employees as our top priority,” said Dr. Jarod Mendenhall, MPS Superintendent.
A plan to make up the remaining days of closure will be proposed at the February Board of Education meeting.
Parent-teacher conferences will take place on February 20, 21, and 23.
- Monday,February 20 –– Secondary Parent-Teacher Conferences
- Tuesday, February 21 –– Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences
- Thursday, February 23 –– Parent-Teacher Conferences
The district will announce additional changes to the instructional calendar once a plan is approved.
In an effort to quickly provide information on inclement weather make up days, it was originally reported in error that February’s early release day would be replaced by instruction. This is not the case. The early release day for Wednesday, February 8 will take place as scheduled.
