Sadler Announces Additional Class Sections for 7th and 8th Grades
MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Sadler Arts Academy is excited to announce the addition of new class sections in 7th and 8th grades for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. Applications are currently being accepted. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 26, 2023.

Who is eligible to apply for the new class sections?
Students currently enrolled in Muskogee Public School, students moving into the district, or students transferring into the district who will be entering the 7th or 8th grades may apply. Students not currently enrolled at MPS, will be required to enroll with the district.
What is Sadler Arts Academy?
Sadler Arts Academy is a K-8 Arts Magnet School designed to give students the opportunity to learn through creative instruction, using the arts as a vehicle for motivation and learning. We are open to any student in grades K-8 in Muskogee Public Schools on a space available basis.
What is a magnet school?
A magnet school attracts students through its emphasis on a specific area of interest. Sadler Arts Academy attracts students through its emphasis on the arts.
What is the purpose of the Arts Academy?
The purpose of Sadler Arts Academy is to give students the opportunity to learn through creative instruction, using the arts as the vehicle for learning.

For 36 years, Sadler Arts Academy has sustained state and national recognition for academic and instructional excellence. The school is a recipient of funding from the Phil E. Kirschner Foundation, The Reader’s Digest, The Oklahoma Arts Council, The Muskogee Area Arts Council, The Oklahoma Education Technology Trust, the Oklahoma Business Circle for Arts Education, and the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits. Fully Renovated Historic School Site
Sadler Arts Academy will return to their fully renovated historic school site located near the heart of historic, downtown Muskogee.The school is undergoing a complete renovation that modernizes the learning environment while honoring the site’s legacy. The school site is located at 800 Altamont Street.
Does Sadler teach a different curriculum?
Sadler Arts Academy is responsible for the same curriculum as all other public schools in Oklahoma. However, all content areas (reading, math, language, science, and social studies) are taught through the arts. In addition, students cycle through the school’s special arts learning labs: dance and creative movement, visual arts, drama and vocal music.
Is there a tuition fee?
Sadler Arts Academy is a Muskogee Public Schools site. There are no tuition costs. Interested students from outside the district may apply for admission following approval of an inter-district transfer request handled through the office of the Superintendent of Schools of the sending district and the office of the Superintendent of Muskogee Public Schools I-20, Dr. Jarod Mendenhall.
Is transportation provided?
Transportation is provided for magnet students who are residents of Muskogee Public Schools District I-20. Transportation is not provided for inter-district transfer students from outside the boundaries of Muskogee Public Schools I-20.
Special Events
Sadler students in grades 2 – 8, have the opportunity to audition for Sadler’s annual production of Nutcracker, which is presented 5 times during the Christmas season, and has become more than a school show. It is seen by an audience of approximately 3000 each year, and is a community event.
