Principal, Ben Franklin Science Academy
Donna Pillars is in her fifth year as principal at Ben Franklin STEM Academy and 19th year at Muskogee Public Schools. She has previous stops as a Principal at Chouteau Public Schools as well as a third grade teacher at Cherokee Elementary and first grade teacher at Sadler Arts Academy. Donna spent seven years working outside of education with Flintco Construction as a Field Engineer and Construction Manager.
She is a graduate of Northeastern State University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. She also holds a Masters in Administration from NSU.
Pillars was the 2010-2011 Cherokee Elementary Site Teacher of the Year and also earned Teacher of the Month recognition in 2010. At Flintco she was awarded the Safety Award in 2007 and was employee of the month in 2008. She was also recognized with graduate honors at Northeastern State in 2009 and 2010.
She served as a member of the Bacone College Accreditation Committee from 2010-12. The last two years has been a member of the Dream It Do It Committee and Muskogee Area Cycling.
Born and raised in Muskogee, Okla., Pillars is a graduate of MHS. She looks to continue to prepare students to be college and career ready and striving to prepare all students for 21st century careers at BFSA.
