Early Childhood Center History
The Muskogee Early Childhood Center opened in 2000 to serve Muskogee's Pre-Kindergarten children. Through the years, ECC has evolved into a premier early childhood program now providing Muskogee’s children with an outstanding Reggio-inspired, project-based, play-based, creative curriculum that is intentionally focused on developing the whole child. In addition to our strong academic curriculum, ECC provides children with engaging enrichment opportunities in our Reggio-inspired atelier, the ECC SEED (Stem in Early Education and Development) Lab, our two Action-based Learning Labs, the Outdoor Classroom, and in our Music Box. ECC also offers our students and families before and after school child care. ECC was recognized in 2016 as a State and National School of Character and was the first early childhood program in Oklahoma to receive this honorable distinction. ECC has been named a Certified Healthy School annually since 2012.
