Muskogee High School All-School Musical Presents “Anastasia, the Musical”, Feb. 24-27
MUSKOGEE, Okla. - The Muskogee High School Fine Arts Department is proud to present the 2022 All-School production of Anastasia, the Musical February 24-27, 2022 inside the Muskogee High School Performing Arts Center.
Inspired by the 20th Century Fox motion picture, the show transports the audience from the fall of the Russian Empire of the Romanov family in 1917 to Paris in 1927. Anya (Lyndsey Eckerson) is a brave young woman suffering from amnesia sets out to find the mystery of her past. Her quest is aided by a dashing conman, Dmitry (Andrew Hitt), and a loveable ex-aristocrat, Vlad (Joshua Vienna); while being pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer, Gleb (Caleb Russell), determined to silence her.
Meanwhile, the Dowager Empress (Madison Jackson) and her energetic handmaid Lili (Annalea Miller) are on a search for the last surviving member of the Romanov family, the Princess Anastasia.
The whimsical story will be a treat for the whole family with the score including song favorites from the hit animated film, “Journey to the Past” and “Once Upon a December.” The show deviates front he film and is depicted as historical fiction based on rumors of the survival of Princess Anastasia after the overthrow of the Romanov Family. Show Directors Penny McGill, Kerry Huffer, and Robbie Anderson are excited to take the audience on this voyage of self-discovery and defining who you are meant to be.
Performances will be held at the MHS Performing Arts Center at 3200 E. Shawnee on February 24-26, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. and February 27, 2022 at 2:30 p.m.
