Muskogee Public Schools is proud to announce a milestone achievement as the first graduating class of the Early College High School (ECHS) program at Muskogee High School has officially crossed the stage. In a partnership with Connors State College, this program allows students to earn both their high school diploma and an Associate’s Degree at the same time, all while attending classes on the Muskogee High School campus.
This inaugural group of students has accomplished something remarkable. They successfully balanced the demands of high school and college coursework and earned their Associate’s Degrees from Connors State College two weeks before receiving their high school diplomas from Muskogee High School.
“This program represents a new era of opportunity for students in Muskogee,” said Dr. Jarod Mendenhall, Superintendent of Muskogee Public Schools. “These students have set a high standard and proven what is possible with vision, support, and hard work.”
The Early College High School program is designed to remove barriers to higher education by offering college courses, advising, and resources directly on the high school campus. Students not only save time and money, but also gain confidence as they transition from high school to higher education or the workforce with a significant academic head start.
As the first group of ECHS graduates prepares to move forward, whether to four-year universities, technical programs, or careers, they carry with them an extraordinary accomplishment and a legacy that will inspire future Roughers for years to come.
