Why Attendance Matters - Start the Year Strong!

Every day counts. Research shows that students who miss just two days in the first month often end up missing more than 25 days over the school year. Building good habits from the start helps students stay on track academically and socially. Regular attendance isn’t just about grades, it helps students develop important life skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and time management. Missing five days in the first month can cause students to fall behind in reading and math, making it harder to catch up later. Attendance also supports mental health: students who attend regularly feel more connected and experience less stress and anxiety. Help your child start strong and stay strong this year by making sure they’re at school whenever they’re feeling well! (Source)
