Honors, Pre-AP & AP Programs

Student at Graduation Ceremony

Muskogee Public Schools offers many classes that focus on advanced curriculum and provide students with expanded learning opportunities. These include honors courses, Pre-Advanced Placement (Pre-AP) courses and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Honors courses are offered to students in grades 6-8 while Pre-AP and AP classes are offered to students in grades 9-12.

Advanced Placement (AP) Courses

Advanced Placement provides students with the opportunity to enroll in college-level courses while still in high school to earn college credit. Muskogee High School offers College Board AP courses in the Arts, English, History, Math, Science, and World Languages. Students are also able to take an online course if it is not offered at the high school.

Pre-Advanced Placement (Pre-AP) Courses

Pre-AP courses give all students the opportunity to learn the foundational knowledge and skills they need to be successful in AP and other college-level coursework. Pre-AP offers consistent, high standards in focused courses that help build, strengthen, and reinforce students’ content knowledge and skills. Upon completion of Pre-AP courses, students should see improved readiness for college and career.
