Today, Muskogee Public Schools announced $1,081,900.00 in grant funding from the William Barry Love Foundation, underscoring the nonprofit’s mission to empower Muskogee’s students and youth while strengthening the community for generations to come.
The commitment will support innovative district initiatives to expand literacy programs, strengthen afterschool learning, and expand access to higher education for students. With this announcement, the Foundation’s total giving to Muskogee Public Schools reaches $1,245,376, since the first grants were awarded in 2024.
Programs Supported by the 2025 Grants
Higher Learning Opportunities ($187,500): Launching Muskogee Public Schools’ Early College High School in partnership with Connors State College, enabling students to graduate with both a high school diploma and an associate degree.
Pershing After School Program ($100,000): Delivering research-based reading and math support, along with STEM and social-emotional learning for K–5 students.
Elementary Reading & Math Interventionists ($694,400): Funding 10 new interventionists—one math and one reading specialist at each elementary school—to provide intensive, data-driven support for students below grade level.
6th/7th Grade Roughers Extended Day Program ($100,000): Extending afterschool tutoring, art, STEM, and physical education opportunities to middle school students.
The William Barry Love Foundation carries forward the vision of its namesake—longtime President and CEO of Love Bottling Company—by dedicating a portion of the company’s profits to support Muskogee’s youth and families through local organizations and nonprofits.
