Education Foundation of Muskogee to Host Annual Trivia Night Fundraiser

MUSKOGEE, Okla. — Muskogee Public Schools is proud to announce that the Education Foundation of Muskogee has been named a recipient of the 2026 Outstanding Program Award for School Foundations by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence.

Presented annually through OFE and its Oklahoma School Foundations Network, the Outstanding Program Awards recognize innovative programs sponsored or administered by public school foundations across Oklahoma.

The Education Foundation of Muskogee was honored for its long-running Trivia Night, the foundation’s annual fundraiser that brings together businesses, families and community members for a fun and competitive evening in support of Muskogee classrooms.

Each award-winning foundation will receive a trophy and a $2,000 award. Honorees are selected based on the measurable impact their programs have on their schools and communities.

“Public school foundations positively impact our school communities in so many meaningful ways,” said Elizabeth Inbody, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence. “Supporting and uplifting them is a vital part of OFE’s work, and we’re thrilled to honor these foundations.”

Now in its third decade, Trivia Night continues to draw approximately 450 participants annually, with more than 40 sponsored tables sold each year. The event raises between $35,000 and $45,000, allowing the foundation to grow its endowment and expand classroom grant opportunities for Muskogee Public Schools teachers.

More than 40 classroom grants are funded each year, and the foundation has established an off-cycle grant process to meet needs that arise throughout the school year.

Foundation board member Melony Carey said the event has become an excellent way to unite the community in support of education.

“When the adults are challenged to test their knowledge in an evening of trivia, learning and education come to the forefront of everyone’s thinking,” Carey said. “And it’s fun for a good cause!”

The Outstanding Program Award winners will be recognized at OFE’s 40th annual Academic Awards Celebration on May 2 at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.

Trivia Night 2026 will take place tonight, Friday, February 20, 2026. Muskogee Public Schools congratulates the Education Foundation of Muskogee on this well-deserved statewide recognition and thanks the entire community for continuing to invest in the success of our students.
