Muskogee Public Schools is proud to congratulate Director of Fine Arts Harvey Price on being named a 2026 Hall of Fame inductee by the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association, recognizing more than five decades of dedication and impact in music education across Oklahoma.
Price’s career spans more than 55 years and reflects a lifelong commitment to providing opportunities for students through music. After earning degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma and Northeastern State University, he began a career that would influence generations of students and fellow educators.
Throughout his career, Price served students in Sperry, Grandview and Tahlequah Public Schools, spending 35 years in Tahlequah building a respected band program known for excellence. Under his leadership, student musicians earned superior ratings and participated in performances and experiences across the country.
In addition to leading successful programs, Price helped establish band programs in rural communities, mentored young directors and served as a clinician and adjudicator throughout the United States and internationally.
Since joining Muskogee Public Schools in 2021 as Director of Fine Arts, Price has continued to support students and strengthen fine arts opportunities across the district.
His induction into the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association Hall of Fame recognizes not only an exceptional career, but the lasting impact he continues to make in music education.
