2026-2027 SCHOOL DAY SCHEDULE UPDATES
Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, Muskogee Public Schools will implement updated school day schedules at schools serving kindergarten through fifth grade students to comply with Oklahoma Senate Bill 1481, which was recently signed into law.
The new law requires all kindergarten through fifth grade students to receive at least 40 minutes of daily supervised, unstructured recess. Because recess may no longer count toward required instructional time, many school districts across Oklahoma are adjusting their daily schedules to meet state requirements.
After carefully reviewing our school schedules, Muskogee Public Schools has made minor adjustments to the school day for Elementary (K-5) and Sadler Arts Academy. These changes allow us to remain compliant with state law while continuing to provide students with the required instructional time.
Please review the graphic below for your school's schedule, including door opening, start, and dismissal times.
If you have any questions about your child's school schedule, please contact your school office. Thank you for your continued partnership as we prepare for another successful school year!

Great news for you and your students! Muskogee High School's OK-071 AFJROTC recently hosted its fourth annual Cadet Leadership Course at Camp Gruber, welcoming 107 cadets from Oklahoma and Kansas for a week of hands-on leadership development.
Throughout the week, cadets challenged themselves through rappelling, obstacle courses, survival skills, teamwork activities, and problem-solving exercises while building confidence, resilience, and leadership skills they'll take back to their schools and communities.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible and invested in the growth and success of these student leaders!

Congratulations to Muskogee 8th & 9th Grade Academy students Kaia Moore and Hallie Haywood on representing MPS at the 2026 National History Day National Contest at the University of Maryland!
Kaia and Hallie earned their spot on the national stage after advancing through Regional Competition at Northeastern State University and then qualifying at the State Competition at the Oklahoma History Center.
This year’s National History Day theme, “Revolution, Reaction, Reform in History,” challenged students to explore moments in history that shaped the world around us.
We’re proud of Kaia and Hallie for their hard work, dedication and outstanding achievement, and grateful to staff sponsor Mr. Oscar Flores for supporting them throughout the journey.
Way to represent Muskogee on the national stage! 💚
